Introduction

I am ALESSANDRO

C.E.O. - EDITOR IN CHIEF

Alesssandro Ferrari was born in Clarendon, Jamaica and migrated with his family to the United States of America in 1970.  He attended Elementary, High School, and University.

He had always missed his island of Jamaica and one day he just decided to return home and just packed his bags and left.  He had wanted to come home and help those who he could.

He started with the Brownstown Children’s Home where he was able to help some children to finish school and have treats.  Eventually he went on to help many schools, community centres, hospitals, clinics, and many people.

The idea for Product of Jamaica came about because he wanted to show the world that there was more to Jamaica than ‘white sand beaches and waterfalls’. That Jamaica has a rich history, beautiful people, great food, and much more to offer.

MAGAZINE HISTORY

The first edition of Product of Jamaica Magazine was published in June of 2012.  Many people thought that it didn’t make sense to do a magazine about Jamaica as there were so many magazines out there to compete about, but that did not deter Mr. Ferrari from pressing forward.  While people were trying to get his spirits down, he was putting the magazine together.  Even those close to him did not see the vision.

Finally in June of 2012, the first edition came out and was a constant hit.  People were surprised that there was a amagazine that showed Jamaica in a different light.  A magazine that showed ‘the real Jamaica’ as Mr. Ferrari would say.

Since the publication of the first edition, the magazine has continued.  During the COVID-19 pandemic, the magazine had to go online so that it’s readers could still receive it.

Our magazine is read from people from all walks of live and from the Diaspora.  We have readers from the United States, England, Canada, Japan, and other countries.

We pride ourself on giving our readers the best photographs, well written articles, and great content.  Moving forward, the magazine will be available online to be read but we will continue to do our print editions because we know that is what our readers desire.  Below are just some of the covers from previous editions.
